Marjorie Jones is a food safety professional with over 30 years of industry experience. She has worked in all aspects of the trade from restaurant worker to regulator, Auditor, Quality Assurance Manager, Account Executive, Account Manager and Head of Client Management. Marjorie’s professional passion is working with organizations to improve public health and prevent food borne illness.
In 2021, Marjorie joined Active Food Safety as a Consultant toprovide expertise and practical solutions to today’s food safety challenges in the food service, retail, and manufacturing arenas. In 2020, Marjorie launched Falcon Food Safety, LLC , to provide expertise and technical support in food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and third party auditing.
Prior to starting her own business, Marjorie worked for NSF International for 12 years as an account manager and eventually, Head of Client Management for third party domestic and international audit programs. Marjorie managed over $10 million in revenue and a team of account managers and the client relationships for large food service, retail food and restaurant companies. During her time with NSF, she also worked closely with the Business Development team in identifying and securing new clients. Before her tenure at NSF, Marjorie spent three years with SGS as an Account Executive securing and managing international third party audits for U.S. based food retailers.
Previously, Marjorie spent 10 years with Marriott & Avendra as a Senior Quality Assurance Manager where she worked with product quality and product specifications, audited food manufacturing facilities, and oversaw food safety & quality for distribution centers. Marjorie’s regulatory experience was gained as an Environmental Sanitarian for the Prince George’s County, Maryland Health Department where she spent 9 years in Food Control and Plan Review. In addition, , she spent 2 years in the Palm Beach County Health Department working with Drinking Water Regulations.
Marjorie holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Horticulture from Virginia Tech. She is also a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) and a two-time Past- President of the Florida Association for Food Protection.
